My Top Ten Favourite Beauty Products

As a busy Mum, I don’t have a huge budget or a lot of time for expensive, fandangle beauty products. I need something that I know will work, will be value for money and that I can slap on pretty quick as I’m rushing out the door. These are the products I cannot live without – the ones I have used for years and years, and the ones I would recommend to all of my friends!

Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream

I have dry skin so use this as a day cream, night cream and general moisturiser.  It smells delicious, isn’t expensive and is bloody lovely.  Been using it for years.

Neat 3B Face Saver Gel

I have a sweaty t-zone and always end up so shiny by the end of the day.  I love this stuff, I use it as a base over my moisturiser and my makeup stays put – all day.  Just don’t get any in your mouth – nasty!!!

Natio for Men SPF 30+ Face Moisturiser

Yes it is for men, but this stuff is fabulous!  Most sunscreens end up stinging my eyes by the end of the day, or are quite irritating.  Not this one, it smells nice and absorbs really easily – and I like it a whole lot better than the women’s version!

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

Yes the old hot pink and hot green number you can buy from the local supermarket.  It is cheap, easy to get and ohhh so good.  It doesn’t clump, doesn’t irritate and is the right price. Just brilliant!

Formula 10.0.6 One Smooth Operator Pore Clearing Face Scrub

This is my go-to weekly face exfoliator. It is gentle, but really works. It leaves my skin beautiful and smooth, it lasts for ages and doesn’t cost much!

Nude by Nature Liquid Mineral Foundation

This is lovely foundation, and doesn’t feel like you are wearing anything at all.  It is for light coverage only, and glides on beautifully.  It does a great job of hiding imperfections, and is more like a BB cream on sterioids than an actual foundation.  Lasts for ages and usually is available for under $30.

Schwarzkopf Instant Volume Powder

Hair a bit dirty and a little bit flat?  This powder is a gem.  It’s like powdered hairspray – you just sprinkle a bit where you need a bit of ‘height’. I like to do this on the crown, and it perks straight up!  Cheap as chips and not as ‘hard and shiny’ as the look you get using hairspray.

Biore 4-In-1 Revitalizing Cleanser

Love this cleanser.  It is foaming, lovely and gentle.  Removes the heaviest of makeup no worries and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight!  I definitely have less pimples since I’ve been using this, It seems to really get into the pores!

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse

For a night on the town or when you are having your photo taken and need a bit of a ‘heavier coverage’, you can’t go past this foundation.  It is light and silky, glides on easily and looks dewy. Just make sure you wear a good base underneath or the foundation tends to fall into the wrinkles by the end of the day.

Motives Eyebrow Kit

I don’t wear makeup that often, but I always make sure my eyebrows look good, otherwise I look very washed out.  This simple little kit contains two brow colours so you can always mix and match to get the right shade, and has a little pot of wax to keep the straggly hairs in position. The small kits also have a brow brush and comes in a compact with a mirror. I always keep it in my handbag!

So that’s my Top 10 favourites!  What are yours?
