Hello again SAHM’s!

Over the next 5 weeks I will be sharing my TOP 5 simple everyday health and wellness tips.

Tip number 1: Exercise or eat within 15 minutes of waking up in the morning.

If you ever wake up sleepy and lay in bed for a while, slowly climb out of bed and head straight to the couch or organise the kids and tidy the house before you have eaten your body will be conserving as much energy as it can for the rest of the day. Get your metabolism going and your body burning calories by eating as soon as you wake up in the morning.  Because your body has new fuel coming in it will increase the rate at which you are burning calories giving you more energy and helping to shift stored body fat. After you have quickly had your breakfast (for e.g. ½ cup raw oats, 20g mixed berries, 10g LSA and 200ml skim milk) you can now organise the busy household and get started with your day.

If you like to exercise in the morning, which is a great idea to get it out of the way before life can get in the way; doing some low to moderate intensity cardio as soon as you wake will also help to kick your metabolism into gear. Exercise first thing in the morning is also a great way to boost energy levels and burn stored body fat. Be sure you eat your breakfast within an hour of returning.

This might seem simple if you are doing it already, but its something that can really help get you going for the day. Have a great week and be sure to check in next week for my next simple everyday health and wellness tip.
