Baked Apples

Baked Apples is a very old and very traditional recipe – and it actually isn’t too bad for you – depending on how much naughty filling and sauce you use!

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

  2. Core the apples without going all the way through (so the topping has something to 'sit' on).

  3. Place the apples on a baking tray covered in baking paper - up the right way.

  4. In a bowl mix together the nuts, sugar and butter and 'stuff' the apples with the nut mixture.

  5. Bake the apples for 45 minutes or until soft and the sauce turns into a caramel.

  6. Serve warm with ice cream or cream.

Recipe Hints and Tips:

  • Baked Apples are not suitable for freezing.
  • This recipe is best served hot from the oven.
