How to Make a Mint Julep Cocktail

This Mint Julep Cocktail is a non alcoholic version, but you could add a shot of rum to it. Or give us some of your ideas to power up this cocktail?

I like Mint Juleps as they aren’t too sweet (many cocktails are just a sheer sugar overload!) and it is really refreshing in the heat.  If you are like me and don’t want a really sweet cocktail – just cut back the sugar in the syrup – easy!

Method

  1. Wash the mint and put it in a bowl, cover it with the sugar.

  2. Strain the lemon juice over the top of the mint and sugar mixture and let sit for 2 hours.

  3. Pour the liquid in to a glass jug, add some cubes of ice and stir in ginger ale.

  4. Garnish with fresh mint leaves
