Tonkinese is a great breed. Developed from a mix of Siamese and Burmese. Has Burmese placid loving temperament, with Siamese voice and mischief. They give lots of love, but need it too. Is a bit like a dog dressed up in a cat outfit. I had one (neutered male), that would follow me up the road on my walk, and yowl at me if it was dusk and he thought it was too dark for me to be safe going for a walk. They are a bit bossy, if you let them get away with it, but enjoy playing with children.

If you don't want to have to brush them, just get a regular domestic short hair. We had 3 cats growing up, and they were all very different personalities, so it's a bit of luck with what you end up with.

Depends what you're looking for I guess? I have great success with just regular domestic short hairs for my kids pets. We also have a domestic long hair and a rag doll. They are all basically the same except the long hair leave clumps of hair everywhere.
