What is worse?

A father that is in & out children’s lives or one that is completely absent?
I have never denied him access to his kids but there is always the excuse of something “came up” or he got “bitten by a snake”, he is never consistent, the girls can’t leave anything at his house as he doesn’t know when he’ll see them again. They are 13 & 11. I sometimes feel they will be better off with not having him in their lives.

One that is in and out been going through it for 10 years now and she is devastated every time he disappears for another 6 months. If you’re not in 100% just stay away. He won’t text her, answer her calls, call her NOTHING

Completely absent. My father was in and out of mine and all he did was get my hopes up then dash them.
