How soon is too soon to sell?

Answered 4 years ago

Long story, but partner bought a house that I didn’t want to buy. What is a reasonable period for us to keep the house before we can sell? I’m thinking maybe 5 years?

I’d keep the house and sell the partner 😂 how dare he pull such a move without your approval.
Out of curiosity why don’t you like the house? All house are just a tonne of bricks walls and ceilings. How about you start acting accordingly and turn it into a home and create some beautiful memories. Alot of people would love to be in your position. Stop being a princess!

Do you think the prices are going to go back up again?

Go find yourself a mortgage broker to just chat to. Prices are set to go down as we've heard but also a lot of people don't want to buy at the moment because everything's so uncertain. Talk to someone in the property market to see what your best option is. What state are you in

If you’re buying and selling in the same market, coronavirus doesn’t make a difference. You’ll sell for less than last year but you’ll pay less than you would have last year.

The general pattern is that lower cost houses retain most of their value, but the more expensive ones can lose a great deal.
So watch the market and see when you might be able to make a good change over.
