Does anyone have lupus?

Answered 3 years ago

I recently went to the doctor for bowel issues and while everything for that came back negative my blood test showed high ANA so the doctor sent me for dsDNA blood test which was negative and even though I have so many symptoms relating to lupus she won’t send me to a rheumatologist. I’m in so much pain and so tired and now my fingers are bruising and I don’t know what to do. I’m booked into see another doctor but just wanted to know how long it took for a diagnosis?

Yes and they wouldn’t send me either. Go see another doctor and ask again I’m now a year later and it was a respiratory specialist who ended up diagnosing as I almost died and went to icu after go told me I didn’t have anything wrong and refused to test

Mine was diagnosed fairly quickly. But I almost died beforehand (I'm not going into how, but it freaked doctors out that someone my age got THAT sick that quickly). So as soon as I was well again, I went to the GP and asked for tests to figure out wtf was going on. He sent me straight to a specialist who ran a bunch of tests and we found out in about 6 months. I think I was lucky to have such a fantastic GP though who really cared about his patients. Sadly, they seem to be hard to find for many (although most of mine seem to go above and beyond - just more luck I suppose). Good luck!
