Guests at your home walking into all rooms

Answered 3 years ago

A few friends have dropped in recently, not really close friends just people we are friendly with. My kids ran off down the hall into my bedroom or theirs and for some reason the visitos feel it necessary to peep around and walk into bedrooms etc. wtf is up with this? If i’m going to someones house, i stick to common areas or toilet only. Never would i stick my nose elsewhere. Is this the norm for drop ins? Its annoys me. Especially seeing as i had my own bedroom door closed over as it was a pig sty before they came over unannounced. Can anyone relate??

I would never do it uninvited.
If my kids went into a bedroom I would go in there right after them and order them straight back out telling them it’s rude.

OMG flashbacks...

When I was a teenager at a family gathering, I had snuck off with my boyfriend to my bedroom. I had my shirt undone, boobs out with his dick in my mouth sucking away right as my auntie walked into my room and saw it all.

It was so embarassing at the time, but I think she saw the funny side. Plus worse ways to get caught giving a bJ I guess!

The only reason I walk out of common areas is to use the toilet or if the host asks if I want to see something (eg a friend wanted to show me the renos in their ensuite). I don’t care if it’s family, close friends or just acquaintances it’s the same in everyone’s house. My children are to do the same unless invited to play with toys in the other child’s room. It’s rude to go have a sticky beak around other people’s houses.

I would only ever dare to do this with my closest friends, because they do it at mine.. otherwise... yikes.
