My partner is Asian and his mum walks in the bathroom when we visit and talks to him while he’s showering and put his shirt on him and buttons it

Nah, that's normal for an asian mum..You don't have to worry . But, may be good to have a talk with the partner in subtle way to check wheather he is ok or not?May be he is fine with it and no issues with the mum at all OR he may be feeling uncomfortable but refusing to reject mum directly .
