Scomo at the Footy

Answered 4 years ago

Im not a liberal supporter but think Scomo has done a pretty good job so far dealing with the Pandemic and all that comes with it, why are people bashing him for going to the Footy and going on holiday with his family? Surely he deserves some down time, we go on and on about mental health and all that stuff, what about his mental health? Dont we want him to be as healthy as possible so he can lead us out of this? Wouldnt we all do the same if we were him? Surely his girls and wife deserve some time with him??

Thoughts?

Anyone verbally bashing him is an idiot with no job or real responsibilities. He has the pressure of running a country, so of course he deserves some down time
He is not god, only human

Whilst we are locked up no one should be on holiday

^right. So the let the economy suffer even more by banning holidays because you are jealous of the other states not in lockdown. Really bright aren’t you.

Only anal licking scomo supporters would say anyone who doesn't support him is unemployed!
I bet you are also anti union!
This country was fantastic back 30-40 years ago, strong unions, free education, health care, taxes paying for pensions so you didn't have to worry about the future. Then John Howard took the whole country backward and have more convinced everyone that unions are bad and socialism is toxic! Wake up to yourselves! The country is literally being destroyed in the name of capitalism and religion!
I feel so sorry for our children, and children's children!

You can talk about him without it being 'bashing'. You can also acknowledge somebody works hard and deserves a break while not thinking they did as good a job as they could have. I think he could have done worse, sure, but he could have done better.

He can pressure all he likes but he can’t make them. Look at the US, with so many states I think trump just said stuff it- that is too much work as they have even greater independence than our states. I wish you would explain more why you think he has done a poor job, it would help your cause

The person with the sweetheart comment is total trash. The comment was right, ending it
with ‘sweetheart’ cancelled it out though.

I don't give a toss if he works "harder and longer than me". He wanted that job. And he's useless at it. I'm in healthcare, we couldn't take breaks over the covid outbreaks, and we can't take holidays because of lockdown. And instead of doing the position he wanted to do effectively and respectably he's out having holidays and blaming the premiers and preaching about Hillsong. Unacceptable

Somebody can work long and hard but doesnt mean they do a great job. Thats kind of the point of the comment, duh.

Whilst I agree in part with your comment and views the flip side is many of us in Vic are trapped at home through no fault of our own. We don't get to go out to socialise, to see family or friends or watch the football and can only dream about ever going on a holiday. With prices and costs going up and wages dwindling in comparrison. He is our voted Prime Minister he should be here through bushfires, pandemics etc to lead his people and keep premiers in line. I agree he needs down time but not whilst many of us are paying for others stupidity. Not when others cant do the same due to this pandemic and rules he has allowed ro be put in place and NOT whilst we have a Premier who seems hell bent on keeping us locked up due to his failures.

So what should he do then? Go into a kind of sympathy lockdown?

He doesn’t work every minute of the day. Sure a 80min footy game isn’t going to make any difference in fighting corona

I dont care about the footy game but to go on holiday its wrong. He needs to take control because Dan doesnt know what he is doing.

You can’t blame it on ‘his failures’ . Blame it on the people who weren’t socially distancing, those that weren’t quarantining when required, those going out when sick etc. Those selfish people put you in your position, not Scomo. Don’t really like the guy but I think he’s done an excellent job throughout all this. Don’t be jealous because other states are in a better position than yours. He has a right to some down time. He’s not in a lockdown state so he’s allowed to. Don’t be mad at him for that.

You cant blame Dan, for a security man fking a Covid infected person in quarantine. And you cant blame him for how badly Victorians have disregarded Social Distancing.

It's disgusting the amount of people solely blaming Daniel Andrews. I think he's actually doing well. Nothing is his direct fault it's all the people flouting the rules and not listening that caused this

Original poster to above, he is entitled to a break but more need to be done. Not solely blaming dan or scott just saying more should and needs to be done.

What more do you want them to do? There are guidelines and policies to follow. They are following them. They can’t make people do the right thing. There are always selfish people who think the rules don’t apply to them.

Different responder- but are they fining more in vic now? I remember at the beginning of all the lockdowns, there was lots about this person or that person being fined for not social distancing..but I don’t hear about it now.. is it still going on? I feel this would help, but I’m not on ground zero and I have no idea what’s going on over there.

I live in Victoria and went on two lovely holidays when we could, one to the peninsula and the other to the country. I ate out, I went hiking it was very refreshing and I social distanced, it was just what I needed. I think everyone if you can afford to and when it is allowed go away in your state and take a break.

He's a useless piece of shit!
No essential workers could get time off during the pandemic, and those who lost their jobs and could afford to have a holiday couldn't anyway! Honestly, how many fucking holidays does that cunt need? This has got to be at least his third, probably all taxpayer funded.
