8yo girl
Answered 5 years ago
I'll obviously take her to the doctors but I can't get in for a few days so thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has been through the same. For about 2-3 weeks my 8 year old daughter has said she feels weird. She feels tingly in her body. And slightly nausea's but not enough that she's vomited or anything. She seems a bit different aswell. Quieter, more calm. Happy to just sit on the couch etc. Anyone else experienced anything like this??

I had this alot when I was younger, the only other symptom I had with it was feeling weak and dizzy as I got up (apart from tingling) this started in grade 5, I also passed out a couple of times during class and hit my head quite hard on the corner of the blackboard but back then teachers didn’t contact parents over everything so she just told me to go eat something....over the years I was never checked until recently when the symptoms skyrocketed and became severe, I’ve been fully tested and it turns out I have reactive hypoglycaemia and I’m only 30.
Definitely get her checked out and ask her if she feels very weak ect. I’m sure doctor will know what to do

Could it possibly be anxiety?
I would get horrible dizzy spells from anxiety when I was younger.

There is none near us. We live quite rural. She's booked in on Wednesday.

I’d try another doctor I wouldn’t be waiting. Especially if it could be her blood pressure or blood sugar. I wouldn’t let this go much longer. Better to be safe than sorry

I've called every doctor in our area and nothing. So unless we take a 3 hour drive she won't be seen. It's not all the time she feels like this. Every morning she does, it's mainly before she eats?? Well not before she eats but once she eats she is fine again. Thanks a few hours later it starts all over again until she eats. Could it just be hunger pains? I have no idea.

Well if it’s in the morning before she eats. Sounds like blood sugar or blood sugar. Maybe get a full blood count and get everything checked. Maybe she could have had a little virus too. Best of luck

If it’s blood sugar levels it can get serious quick. Go to a and e and get them tested at least

Is there a hospital close to you that can check that she’s ok until Wednesday?

Sometimes kids say tingly when they mean dizzy. Low blood sugar maybe? Hope all goes well.

I thought the same but there's no other symptoms. No breast buds, no discharge, pimples etc.
