Pet insurance

Answered 4 years ago

If you have pet insurance, who is it through and how much do you pay? We're getting a miniature dachshund and believe it's best to have it considering back problems etc

I think choice (or maybe barefoot investor) claimed pet insurance was the biggest waste of money

IMHO I think pet insurance is a huge waste of money. Ive had dogs for many years and the occasional visit to the vet for maybe an ear infection for example has only been a couple hundred dollars. There is a website www.vetpay.com.au that can help with finance should your dog become ill or injured. I myself would use them if i need to. Gotta love those fur babies 💕

Yeah we have a 9yo bull arab with no insurance I just worry about the breed of dog we are getting. Very prone to back injuries and problems. But thankyou for your honest opinion :)

You might find pet insurance excludes known breed problems. They exclude forseeable risk. So check first!
