Has anyone's partner had a vasectomy?

Answered 3 years ago

My husband and I have had all the kids we want, and now need to decide on a reliable method of contraception. I don't want to take the pill any more, and hubby hates using condoms. I think it would be great if he could have avasectomy, but he is worried about doing it. It can't be that bad can it? Does anyone have experience of it? I just want to reassure hubby that it's not too bad an experience.

My ex husband had one when we were done having kids. My current partner had one today actually!
He’s in discomfort but not pain at all

My partners getting one after we have this last baby. I’ve given birth to 2 kids (and will hopefully do the same for number 3) without any pain killers. A little discomfort for a couple of days is the least of his worries. I’ve done my part of our family planning now it’s his turn. Birth control doesn’t work for me, I end up angry and depressed with no sex drive. So if he wants sec then he’ll get snipped.

Yes, as per some of the other comments, it's so much better to not worry about getting pregnant. Also my husband can now just cum inside me without worrying about pulling out. He always preferred to cum inside before he had it, but I had a coil before. This is so much easier.

Hubby had a little discomfort for a couple of days but that was it. The end result is fantastic by not worrying about falling pregnant again

ED can be an issue long-term. If I could go back, I’d get my tubes tied instead.

My partner had one soon after our second child. He drove himself there and back. Pit a bag of frozen peas on for a couple of hours and was good as new the next day.

My husband had it a year ago. Very mild pain for two days. No issues at all.

I am trying to persuade my husband to get a vasectomy as well. We know we don't want any more chilren, and my husband doesn't want to use condoms. I reckon a vasectomy would be the best solution for us, but my husband is being a wimp about the possible pain or discomfort. I said after me having to have a C section, and our baby boy being circumcised (mainly husband's decision), I think he can definitely have a little vasectomy! Lol

He was a bit sore after, not at the nut site where they do a teeny cut but higher up as they pull on a tube when they cut, knot & burn it. Ok after a couple of days. The freedom of never having to worry about contraception ever again is amazing!!
