Would you let your in-laws babysit if they left hot drinks on table and toddler was burnt ?

Do they realise their error? This would be key to my decision. I think this was an easily preventable accident.

A very good point.
If they were upset and very apologetic, I would probably trust them again.
But if they were just like, oh well, then I wouldn't.

My sister in law leaves sharp knives on the bench with their handles near the edge. I don't know how many times I moved them quite obviously in front of her and she'd just say oh yeah I always forget. She still does it 3 years on.

Depends. If it was a once off, possibly. My daughter fell off the couch and gave herself a black eye (that I swear lasted months) 10 minutes after I had dropped her off. I know it is completely different, but she still goes to her in-laws.

I swear my toddler comes back from my parents place every weekend with a bruise on her head. She either falls off something, runs into a table/bench or drops/pulls something on to her head. But that happens at home too cause she's just as accident prone as I am 😂
