I think anyone pretending they have not stocked up the house, just in case, is a liar. Considering what occurred when the pandemic first hit, you’d be a fool not to prepare in someway, especially considering we are moving into winter.

Some people don’t have the money to stock up.

Stocking up is different things to different people, im a single parent with no child support so money is tight, but ive still stocked up what i can, although my ‘stock pile’ would probably be nothing compared to someone else's.

^ Don't worry about it. I don't have a stockpile either and I haven't needed it :)

Why so much tp, tissues etc? Why not stock up on food? I dont get the ‘have a million toilet rolls’ thing, where are you storing it all?

That & the price of everything is going to increase too. Buy now if your smart but if not continue to be complacent.

But what now? How could you possibly anticipate everything you would need and for how long? Some short term planning is ok, encouraging anything more is irresponsible. That is how the hoarding started to begin with.

I don't care what name you want to put on it to try and make planning sound bad. I despise going to the supermarket so I always make sure we have alot of food at home, i have extras of everything so I don't have to go there every week. We eat it too, we waste nothing. It's only smart in situation like this especially.

Nowhere did this say “are you going out and buying heaps of stuff”. Being prepared could mean lots of things....

Yes, I agree, i am preparing by having flu vaccines, staying on top of my ‘stock’ in the house (which is very reasonable and in no way hoarding), preparing the kids that school may close again and ensuring ive got all the study materials they will need, extra cleaning and sorting around the house, so things are as streamlined as possible if the worst happens. I wont be in that position again where i cant buy tp, pasta etc for 8 weeks! Im preparing more for the panic that occurs then the virus, im a single parent so its all down to me.
