My kids usually all pitch in to help clean up after dinner. I’m a single mum so my kids have learnt that happy mum with helpers = more time to do what they love = less stressed and happier mum and them.

If my husband isn't working then he pulls his weight at home. I spend all day doing chores and looking after the kids on my own, then I'm up half the night breastfeeding, soothing etc. whilst he sleeps peacefully. If he sat around and watched me clear up by myself after dinner I would kick him out of the house.

Hubby will stack the dishwasher, but other than that I’m usually on my own. If kids are in bed early and hubby hasn’t had too bad a day at work he’ll help more. But I usually clean up while he baths kids and it works well for us at this age and stage while kids are little (3 under 5).

Same, my step kids get away with murder, and don't have to lift a finger to help, and haven't mastered using the toilet properly yet so the weekends they are here the house looks like a tip. They aren't my kids so I'm not going to nag them. But I don't do any cleaning a couple of days before they arrive until after they leave. I wash my kids and my clothes on the Friday night, and just leave their stuff they usually end up wearing dirty stuff to school on Monday. I just leave their plates on the table, it will be still be there for their next meal. My kids are forbidden from picking any thing up after them. The only thing they will do is put their stuff away before they go back to their mum's because they know it will just get thrown out.

We put our own dishes in the dishwasher. My husband or I hand wash the stuff that can’t go in dishwasher and wipe down benches. Kids unload first if there’s clean stuff in there.

My family will take their plates to the bench and scrape any scraps into the bin, but the cleanup is on me. All the cleaning is on me. Which is why most nights, I leave the dinner dishes in the sink until the morning. Because I'm exhausted and if I stay on my feet for too long I get cramps in my legs and can't sleep properly.

I'm slowly teaching my children to rinse their dishes and stack them for me to wash them. And they know how to wash dishes (I don't let them though, they're still so small and also use waaaay too much dish detergent). My husband, well.... he used to be incredibly helpful around the house. Then we had kids and I gave up work. Now, he likes to spout "this is why I have a housewife" when I ask him to help. I'm open to advice about how to handle that one (divorce is not an option I'm willing to entertain).

We don't own a dishwasher. Otherwise my evening would be slightly easier. But recently I've been toying with the idea of getting a benchtop one for all our cups and mugs to go in

We all put own our dishes in the sink or on the bench next to the sink. I usually stack the dishwasher while hubby takes the kids for bath. By the time bathtime is done I’ve cleaned up from dinner, tidied up the main areas of the house, got the kids pjs ready and started folding the washing.

We work as a team to keep our house nice and tidy and we are teaching our kids that they have to help around the house too.

My husband cooks dinners (and does the grocery shopping and dinner planning), he clears the table and feeds the dogs, I wash up.

Sometimes he also cooks breakfast. Other than that, I do all the other meals for our two kids including preparing school lunches.

I cook dinner. Then usually hubby does the dishes and both the kids (teens) dry the dishes and help me make school lunches.

Pretty much on my own for shopping, cooking & clean up. I only get occasional help. I sound like a broken record just trying to get everyone to put dirty dishes in the dishwasher
