Kids waking through the night

Answered 5 years ago

My 2yo and 4 yo are driving me nuts. 2yo has been getting up 2 or more times per night for i dunno how long, and when she actually sleeps on the odd occassion, 4yo wakes up! I got barely f*ck all sleep last night. Hubby also away every other week for a few days and i also work part time. I am utterly exhausted! Oh, btw 2yo will scream the house down if hubby tries to console her during the night. Anyone else have a similar situation and over it?

My 3 year old is going through the same thing. She wakes up at night and I have to get up with her or set her up with netflix and a sleep timer. It's killing me. Tonight, assuming my husband isn't working tomorrow, I'll be taking the tv out of the loungeroom before I go to bed. This is fucked.

Netflix!? There is your problem there! No screen time before sleep, that is 101!

Don’t put tv on for her!
That’s just asking for her to fall into bad habits

Hahaha I realise that now. But, we're at the "breaking the habit" stage by now.

We have a sleeping bag at the foot of our bed. Kids can come in if they need to and have a spot, but their own bed is much more comfortable so they don't get attached to sleeping with us.

What time do they go to bed? I have a 6yr old a 4yr old and a 2yr old and strangely enough the later they go to bed the more likely they are to wake up during the night and the earlier they're up in the morning. If the in bed by 7:30pm they usually sleep through and wake up after 6 in the morning. But if they go to sleep after 8:30pm I can expect to be up at night and bright and early in the morning. Strange but happens every time!

Obviously not as much as you claim seeing you have nothing better to do than hang around on a site for people with kids

Nearly 4 year old still does it sometimes (4 times a week) but has been doing it alot more over the last week but then he got sick so hopefully we'll go back to doing it less when he's better.
