Hell yes. Less people more animals I say. I have my essential people I don't need anyone else. We try to be as self sufficient as we can be now. It's the dream for sure.

I think it’s great, maybe all antivaxers could go off grid together and not risk the rest of society?

^ we're not antivaxers and our living of the grid process began well before we even heard of covid. Not a bad theory, but I don't want to be anywhere near antivaxers either. They're way too intense 🤣

We almost do. we have the advantage of backup power but we don’t use it.

We don’t have rubbish service or water or sewerage.

It’s great

I'm the OP of this question and it has nothing to do with covid. My family and I are working our way to living off the grid as we prefer a quiet simple life. We're about a year away from achieving our goal. Other people's opinions won't sway mine, I'm just curious. Cheers 💕

It is easy and you don’t have do without any of your so called basic necessities and now with solar power and batteries you don’t even need to have a lighting plant running all the time
Kill your own meat and grow most of your own vegetables and fruit but buy once a fortnight from the hawker?!! Even make your own beer and spirits
These days it is all just too easy

Yes, but my husband couldn’t live without flush toilets, pay tv or takeaway 😝 sure, I enjoy those things too but I lived a lot differently before we married. In the early days I took him hiking and he thought I was joking when I told him to pack toilet paper - he figured there would be facilities 😂 we often joke that we need to buy two houses next door to each other - mine can be off grid and his can be the luxury model.
