I just mind my own business and keep driving as per normal

I usually change lanes so they can go around. I have a baby in the back all the time and having a pissing contest is not more important than her life.

Absolutely it can be quite frightening. But sometimes there’s no lane to move in to.

That’s very true. I’ve only had it happen once in a single lane road where it was a motorbike, so somehow less frightening. Every other time it’s always been on a road where there’s at least another lane to get into.

If you have to change lanes so they can go around it means that you shouldn't have been in the lane in the first place

If you are in a 100 zone, not a 60 zone.

^^sometimes you are overtaking someone and the person behind you, also overtaking, is tailgating. You can have a legitimate reason for being in the right lane and be tailgated.

Most of the roads I travel on have a 60-70k speed limit. I sit in the lane I need to be in further up on one particular road. Usually I’m over taking when I do anyway because the left lane is always 10-20k slower. Besides that 2k of road I get in the left lane unless I really want to overtake or have to turn right. I’ve had more than enough people riding my ass in the left lane too.

I live in Adelaide so I have to use the right lane if I'm turning right at some point, because otherwise I won't be able to change lanes.

When my kids were little I noticed two things as a woman which I then modified my driving to ensure I kept us safe.
1. Tailgating as you have discussed and;
2. If I showed assertive driving like having quicker reflexes and being in front - driving at speed limit but being a better driver or overtaking a slower vehicle- I noticed some men took a real issue with my driving skills and basically tried to run me off the road. Has anyone experienced that?

I had that exact experience. Male driver took offence to me being quicker at the green light and tried to run me off the road several times. I had two children in the car and was terrified.

The closer you get, the slower I go

I just go slowly until they remember their manners. And if they want to be a real dick and abuse me - it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Not like I haven't had to put up with that shit at home anyways. 😂

I’ve seen people put the windscreen cleaner on so the car behind gets a spray.

I keep driving normally. No way I'm letting an aggressive driver intimidate me into pulling over & letting them through. That's encouraging the behaviour to continue - like giving a tantruming toddler what they want.

Let them pass or pull over or just keep driving at the legal speed. Sorry if you wanna speed go do it on a stranded road but dont put others at risk because ur late or stupid or impatient. Leave early.

ANSWER

I’d it’s safe to do so, I pull over to let them go through. I can’t stand aggression.
