What can be the cause?

Answered 5 years ago

Yes I am booked to see a doctor on Monday.

Anyone ever been through similar. I always have diarrhea. Every day. I'm not sick, I don't feel sick, some times I'll feel a little nausea's but once I've gone to the toilet I'm ok. No "normal" poo. Some days I won't have anything. Others, I'll eat some rice or bread etc and I'm running for the toilet. All I've eaten today is 2 pieces of toast and I've had 3 diarrheas since. I don't know what's going on??

I feel like this after eating bread. Doesn't seem to be wheat or gluten just bread

If you have always had it, you’re booked in to see the doctor in 4 days time then why are you asking here? No one here can tell you because diarrhoea can be caused by so many things. Just wait until Monday and your doctor does a full physical.

Because it doesn't hurt to hear other peoples advice or opinions.

Have to disagree with you, OP. It can be very dangerous. Especially if you pay attention to someone telling you it isn’t serious, and you just need a gluten free diet or whatever and and you don’t bother seeing your doctor. Maybe you would t do that, but someone else with the same symptoms might read this and decide it isn’t enough to see a medical professional So dangerous seeking advice online. I wish people on this site would stop it.

That's fine you don't have to give me any advice or opinions. Ive changed my app now for Saturday so I will be seeing someone and no I won't take anyones advice to not doing anything about it. Some advice is great, such as coeliac disease. I just read up and it is exactly what I'm going through. So I am thankful.

It's not dangerous to ask for opinions 😂. I do it all the time and I have never run off and done what someone has suggested. It opens up other people's experiences and gives you the option to research that more before going to the doctor. It took 6 months for my doctor to diagnose me with asthma and I will not ever go through that again if I can help it. I go well prepared and never leave an appointment on a guess which means I have to know what I want to be tested for. Asking for opinions helps you do that.

You ask for opinions but don’t do as suggested? Why bother then? I guess you and OP didn’t read what I said. She might and you might decide to seek medical advice in place of internet advice but another person who is far more impressionable May not and there lies the danger. Also, as doctors despise Dr Google due to all the misinformation out there they won’t pay attention when you say you think you have celiacs disease when they can see all your sy it is suggest something else. They spend all those years at university for a reason.

Yes they spend all those years of uni only to misdiagnose people or guess what is wrong with them, making the patient spend hundreds of dollars in medical bills just trying to get a correct diagnosis. There is absolutely nothing wrong with doing your own research first before booking time off work and finding the extra $ to make an appointment to see a doctor, who you would hope would do the right testing instead of sending you away to only have to do it all again the following week. People aren't stupid, it's just something else to consider and look into. Just like the Mums know best intuition rule it should be the same for yourself. I put up with undiagnosed asthma with young kids and kept getting sent away and told it was anxiety, even ended up on medication. I trusted everything he said putting my own life and subsequently my kids lives at risk as they were in my care. Doctors aren't always the gods we think they are.

^ then you get a second opinion? The internet is not a second opinion. I know doctors aren’t gods. And I don’t trust them blindly either. But I have more faith in my doctor than I do randoms on the Internet. You should be more cautious about everything you read online than you do advice from your doctor. ITs really quite frightening how much people get this the wrong way around.

OP I totally understand why you are asking! It might ring as familiar with someone who may suggest having a doctor check something they may not have otherwise considered.
I Don't understand why these responders are being so damned rude and unhelpful.
Best of luck and ignore unnecessary responses from rude cows. They need to get a life.

Not a single one of my replies has been rude. However, you did call me a cow, so......🤷‍♀️

When I say "do it all again the following week" that refers to second opinions. OP is not asking for medical advice. Guess where I get my info from when my kids and I are sick and I'm looking further into symptoms? My states government health department site which is professionally written and covers a massive range of illnesses. I repeat, asking for experiences or thoughts is not asking for medical advice.

^thats fine, you should go to reputable sites if you seek medical info on the Internet. I’m talking about people who come to places like this. And.... I repeat.... I did not say you did. I said far more impressionable people might.

Wow. If I want to ask for advice on here I can. If you don't like it that's fine, move along. I've never seen someone get so worked up over an anonymous question on the internet before.

As much as you’re allowed to ask questions like this on the internet, people are allowed to respond and in a way you might not like. OP of this thread is allowed an opinion as much as you are. It wasn’t expressed in a nasty way. You can take it or leave it. There is always at least one person who says don’t ask here on these kinds of threads. Surprising more didn’t say it. Most of your advice was good. Be glad and ignore the responses you don’t find helpful.

Have the doctor test you for Coeliac Disease. Diarrhoea can be a symptom of it. Often times people with Coeliacs will be unaware of it due to either the lack of noticeable symptoms or symptoms that can be attributed to other causes. Of course it could be a thousand other things but I’d definitely mention it to your doctor.

I thought this too, high fibre foods can do this for coeliacs

Yes this was my first thought too, especially since all you have eaten is toast. If not Coeliac maybe an allergy or intolerance to gluten. Definately keep a eye out on what you eating and when you are experiancing diarrhoea.

Well I just had some vegetarian pasta at work for lunch and couldn't even get through the bowl without running to the toilet. So it does sound like coeliac to me aswell.
