Calling names..

When you and your partner fight, do you call each other names?
I swear, but I never call him names..
Yesterday he called me a head case AND a slut... It just about breaks me. I know names shouldn't hurt as much as physical stuff, but I find it really hard to accept that someone who loves me can call me horrible names in the heat of anger. I guess I just want to know does it happen to others? And what do you do when/if it does happen.. Thanks x

yeah i call him bad things. He calls me a nut case or a bitch but that's it. I call him everything.

My partner would never. Perhaps as a joke when we were both mucking around but NEVER seriously or in anger.

We don't name call during fights, but we also don't fight much. I think it's a bit of a low blow to name call and doesn't help resolve the issue.

No I don’t. Yes we sometimes fight, yes sometimes I do think he’s a dickhead but the aim of the argument isn’t to hurt the other person, at least in our relationship but to her feelings across.

Your husband calling you a slut is very immature and disrespectful.

My partner called me a psychotic head case once and didn't know what to do cause I started laughing. Dude I literally warned you when you were begging me to date you that that's exactly what I am. He has no idea how deep my psychotic tenancies run and it's funny.

My partner has called me a bitch and a head case but never a slut. I have called him a knob, dickhead and I am ashamed to admit, a cunt, on the very rare occasion where he is being really awful.

I say dickhead, he gets hurt by it every time
Iv probably said it about 5 times .
But he was being a dickhead.
He called me a bitch once.
I was being a bitch but it’s cos he was acting like a dickhead sooooo.

Sorry, my partner has never called me names in an argument. Slut is particularly offensive from the person you sleep with I think.

I totally agree, but I wonder if it is just this petty thing where he wants to inflict hurt so thinks of something to dig deep at her. My husband hasn’t called me those but it do understand it does hurt. A few years ago he called me a slob and I still feel hurt about it on occasion. Which is funny, but I was feeling pretty down at that time. I think op should have a conversation and say that that really hurt and that there needs to be rules about arguments

D*ckhead and b*tch is about as far as we go with the name calling. Pretty sure my husband has called me a head case before, crazy, nuts and so on.. it's kinda true though soo.. haha.

I wouldn't stand for being called a slut, why would he even say that? Was the argument about you sleeping around or something?

Dickheads a favourite for us too but not said in anger more when we do something silly & said with a smile.

Slut was the kicker there. Headcase is just another word for crazy. Call me crazy, i don't care. To me that just means you don't understand me because you've never had to live my life, felt the things i've felt & been through the things i've been through. Your partner calling you a slut is a whole different thing. Was he accusing you of cheating? Why would he say that? Context would be helpful.
