I'm petrified for my elderly, diabetic DF. He likely won't survive it.

I'm petrified of the panicked hoards who'll stab you for loo paper.

I'm pissed off that some people & businesses get stimulus help they don't need, while others who need it desperately get nothing. My friend is getting 15k for a business that won't be affected at all. Plus the $750 because they have a dodgy accountant. Plus they're hoarding big time & claiming that on tax too!! Others can't buy bread because they've lost their jobs, but get no help.

I'm sick of trying to cancel my holiday but the airline website doesn't work & they won't answer the phone & I can only get a bot who says 'i don't understand'.

It's stressful for everyone, for different reasons. I'm staying sane by only reading official advice & following it & not getting upset by cancellations of regular activities, instead looking for alternatives.

A thought: if even our policital parties can publicly cease their mud slinging to work together, maybe there's hope for the rest of us.

What do small businesses get 15k for?

Part of the stimulus. They get tax back from empoyee PAYG tax paid. Poor employee will probably get fired, but, hey, rich business owner gets to keep their tax & then get some more. Plus they can claim a heap of other stuff. I know some businesses desperately need it. Some do not. Friends were literally rubbing their hands together with glee & doing a jig yesterday, while rubbing it in my face while they know I'm still desperately trying to cancel our holiday & get some $$ back.

While they're stocking up their coffers, understand that once this is over, we'll ALL be paying more tax to refill the government coffers. Except my friends who claim toilet paper on tax.

Don't rush to get tested. This is the problem people are rushing in with he flu and we are getting pounded. If you haven't been overseas or in touch with anyone positive please just monitor it don't rush to get tested.

But no-one knows if they've been in contact with positive people as they don't release the locations anymore

You have to meet strict criteria to actually get tested. They wont just test you because you want to get tested.

You’ll just get turned away. On the news was a pregnant GP who has symptoms but has been turned away from testing twice because she hasn’t travelled overseas or been in contact with a known positive person.

My 76 yo grandma has emphysema and had been sick with a cough/ difficulty breathing since Friday. She told me she felt like she had the flu, yesterday she was admitted to hospital and i asked her to ensure she was tested for coronavirus. She says they refused to test her as she hadn’t travelled overseas. Never mind if you have come in contact with someone who has it unknowingly. My concern is that people may have the virus and not know, walking around the streets, or at work, school etc. They sent her home today!!

Yes i absolutely believe it's moving through the country unseen, they need to do more testing. Maybe they're trying to keep the numbers down so everyone will keep going to work, have to keep the economy running right scomo.

I am not worried about getting the Corona virus too much for myself. I do worry about the affects on our more vunerable members of the community. I am more worried about the economy and how much it has changed society in general. Every thing is closing down and you can't just go and buy what you need when you need it. I work in retail and I am not sure what will happen in my job. It is so hard not to panic buy when you look at the shelves and you realise that if you don't get it now you might not be able to later when you need it. It is so frustrating knowing that there is food, there is no actual shortage, it is just the fact that people are buying it so fast the grocery shops cannot keep up with demand.

Yes but not the virus itself but the panic of people, and the economic impact it will have on us all.

You can only control your own mindset and immunity. They want us to be scared. It’s part of the government trying to control us. The recession was going to happen anyway. Now they will blame it on the virus. Focus on community. But the things you need and can afford. It will be ok

Yes, I am. The statistics show this is going to get much worse before it gets better. I wish I could be one of these people who believes this is an overreaction fueled by media hype but math doesn’t lie. However I know that my family is doing the best we can to prevent infection. I have made the choice to stop reading every update and am trying to direct conversations to a different topic. My mental health is most important to me at the moment.

Look after your mental health. It’s not healthy to watch and follow this stuff, blaring in red with alerts everywhere it’s addictive too. There are a number of articles on this , how this sort of event is terrible for people with anxiety issues. I was feeling overwhelmed the other day, but it has passed. Try keep yourself busy and do little things to plan. X goodluck
