Legal wills when partners with children move in together.
Also agreement on child support that is coming into house.
Thanks

Can anyone please give me a run down of what was agreed to when you and your partner moved in together.
I'm asking particularly about the financial side of things.
Both coming in with same-ish super amount. Will be buying a house.

My partner and I split everything evenly, we had our own cards so no joint bank account but we split everything evenly. He has always been considerate and asks if I need money for spending or if I have enough for bills ect. There wasn’t never ‘mine’ or ‘yours’ because if it were that way I don’t think we would’ve lasted long. 18 yrs later and we’re happier than ever.
It was tough at first but mainly due to differing parenting techniques we disagreed on, moneywise was no issue as we didn’t have the mine and yours attitude it was just assumed to be ours to pool altogether and take from that pooling the money we needed for bills ect.
Best of luck with everything 🙂

You should go to a solicitor to set up your wills. You can give your partner a right to live in the house after you die and until they die and then it goes to your children

Of course it is but that also includes a roof over their heads, utility bills etc.
I'm not looking for an argument. I'm asking to see if people have different agreements like separate finances, savings account for any expenses for those specific children receiving child support etc etc. I want to be able to discuss different ideas with my partner.

I would look at the will arrangement if you do buy a house that the property gets split so your share goes to your kids? If you’re in a position to split everything for all kids and same set of rules (you’re allowed to do 1 sport for example under this cost) then it would be smoother sailing I would have thought but not sure how practical this would be for you.
