On hold with them for the last hour as I type. I’m currently receiving jobseeker benefits formerly known as Newstart. I’ll be soon taking over from my father who is my mothers carer as he’s no longer capable of fulfilling that role. Does anyone know if ill remain on jobseeker benefits or will that change?

You'll possibly go on a carers payment but it's not an automatic switch. You still have to qualify.

Carers payment so you'll get whatever they got previously
