It's bullshit, my miss has a bday tomorrow and is so upset that she can't see any friends or family. Going to try make it as fun as I can but I'm not risking her health for 1 day, or breaking the law!

My son’s birthday was at the start of this month and I let him FaceTime his friends and our family because he was really upset he was missing out. It wasn’t the same but it helped him not be so sad on his actual birthday. Just an idea for your little miss. And a big happy birthday to her!

I don't understand why you're children are so upset about missing a party. My kids were never that bothered if they got to have a party or not. Usually our parties consisted of dinner at home or nannas and a cake and their present. Maybe we are the ones who really want to have the parties,or are we raising spoilt children who have no resilience?

I don't mean you guys I mean the person throwing the party, obviously your children understand

My kids are upset about missing out on a party cause we have had one for nearly every birthday unless they choose to do something special (with extra family) like paintball or go carts.

I never really had birthdays when I was a kid so I have always made a big effort for my kids, they love it and really feel special on their day choosing all our meals and what we do. (Whenever they eat something they really like they always say "I'm having this on my birthday") But their favourite bit? FAMILY!! So iso version was face time/calls/messages - not the same but still happy so many remembered.

What's so bad about making your child feel like a King or Queen for the day? Especially if your stuck in isolation?!?!

Bit amazed that you could not understand why a kid would be upset? 😕😕 What kid doesn't love a birthday??

Ok so our birthday parties are always a bunch of activities (running to whatever theme the kids have picked; water bombs/guns , nerf wars , playdough , fairy high tea , pool party , ect) lots of food , normally bbq , cake, pinatas, lollies and a hell of a lot of kids 😂😂

My kids would never not bother, they start talking and planning months out

Personally I'm more offended that an aboriginal funeral was allowed 80 attendees, but a Greek one in Melbourne had armed police turn up to enforce the social distancing rules ..
One rule for us, one rule for others.

That’s right Coronavirus isn’t picky so why let some do it and not others

The Greek family probably asked for permission to have more people attend which would have red flagged the funeral. They should have just done it.

They should have held it in the back yard, the the front yard flaunting their disrespect

You’re wrong. It is our business. One person can infect 30 others so social distancing is for the benefit of the whole community

That right. It's definitely our business as it affects everyone

I’m glad they got fined but think it should have been more. My son had his birthday the start of this month and I’ve had to postpone the party. He FaceTimed friends and family. It wasn’t really ideal that he had to miss out but I would never forgive myself if anyone got sick from coming out. We all need to be responsible and do as the restrictions say. They haven’t put them in place for shits and giggles, it’s so we don’t have person after person dying every day from Covid. We’re all in this together and we all need to do our part.

It was in Beaumaris, Melbourne. Stupid, irresponsible fu*kwits got what they deserved. What is it with those who live in affluent suburbs acting like assholes, thinking they're above the law?

Definitely got what they deserved. Good on the neighborhood for dobbing them in. I would have done the same thing

It shits me that we are doing all we can and my kids are upset at missing their friends but some rich knob head thinks they are above the rules? I’m glad they got caught and got fined, maybe they will think for one second that they aren’t the only ones finding this hard or unfair. Belligerent people are my pet hate.

I never thought I’d see the day where it would be illegal to host a kid’s birthday party. But they broke the law. We are all having to cancel events and have celebrations in isolation so no excuse at all. They deserve it .
