What is your cultural background/heritage?

Answered 4 years ago

Do you engage in the culture of your ancestors? How?
Some of my ancestors were from France, and we celebrate Bastille Day every July (French menu for the day, and we spend a couple of hours only speaking French).

Why would you not? I’m German and very proud of my ethnic cultural heritage. As for the person saying ‘good call’ are you educated in any kind of history? Do you even have an education? What kind of an idiot would encourage someone not to be proud of their culture?? EVERYONE should be proud of their culture!!

You do realise Germany has thousands of years of history before Hitler right? 🙄🙄 how ridiculous some people only focus on that small part of history. You know who killed more people than Hitler? The communists did, the Russians and Chairman Mao (who was the biggest mass murderer in history) Stalin ect.

I'm Dutch and my hubby is German, our kids have grown up celebrating both cultures. My hubby was teased as a child for being German and I was also, kids thought my surname was German, so I understand why you might not be proud but I hope one day you will for your own peace

Aussie. There is English/Irish/Scottish in my background, but we don't celebrate it or anything. My husband is half Maltese, same thing don't really celebrate it, but I did have to learn to cook one of the Maltese dishes his mum makes lol.
