I think that's a great idea. Some people are more comfortable with what their used to. Be unique.

Well the thing is there is a lot of food I like and enjoy but no one else would really eat it, I just want something different to the usual. I don’t really have the luxury of being able to go out just anywhere for a meal I have allergies and despite a lot of places saying they don’t use xyz or leave it out I tend to get sick, I am also someone who eats keto/low carb so if we were to go out options are limited to steak, chicken fish ect.

I am open to options

Can I ask why that is, considering it is a special birthday trying to make it a bit different

I wrote the original comment not sausage one.

I would go for normal party food, sausage rolls, pies, cocktail finger food. Or a buffet hot meats and food such as potatos salads etc.

Go with whatever is your favourite, or most of your guests would enjoy. Some parties I have been to cater with baked potatoes & add your own toppings, nachos or burritos & build yourself, bbq/roast/spit & add salad/veg, burgers & build yourself, can do hot dogs for kids etc

Thanks I will be lucky to have 10 people there if that, most birthdays always end up being bbq/roast or bbq chickens as well as salad. I am sick of things always being the same so trying to get a bit creative we have done burgers before as well as Italian themed. If Mexican will have plenty toppings for people to do own tacos, nachos burritos and taco salad. If Lebanese plenty of there swish kebabs done over the coals, Lebanese bread, Turkish pides, salads, dolmades and garlic sauce

I agree with the poster above about a BBQ/Roast meats and salads with a few nibbles platters to go around. BUT if you have your heart set on mexican or Lebanese I would personally choose mexican and have a DIY Taco/burrito station obviously with someone suerpvising the table to ensure no grubs are using their dirty fingers.

My sister hired a food van from eat street for her 30th, maybe see if there are mexican/lebanese food vans that hire our for events

Thanks it always normally ends up bbq/roast meats so I am trying to do something a bit different. There will only be 10 people if I am lucky so so hiring a good truck isn’t really a option due to minimum 40 people booking. Due to several allergies I find it easier just to make the food myself having someone else do the cooking would be nice but it won’t happen

They both sound yummy but Mexican would probably be easier. Most people would be more familiar with it I think. And it would be so easy to set up DIY bars.
