I started on the lowest dose yesterday because I tick all the boxes for a heart attack. BMI 37, age 41, pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, increased blood pressure, fatty liver and a family history of heart disease and diabetes. I’ve been overweight for about a decade, before that I had always had a BMI of between 19-24. I didn’t feel the stimulant effect and was tired by the time I finished work. I went to bed at my usual time and took approx an hour to drift off which is normal for me. I felt hungry three times in the day, lunch, dinner and just before bed. That’s a big difference for me as prior to the medication I was constantly hungry, snacking between meals and, more often than not, bingeing at night. I am following my GPs advise of 50g carbohydrate per day and daily exercise until next appointment where I’ll be referred to a dietitian and exercise physiologist. One possible side effect, I got a headache mid morning which I can’t say for sure was caused by Duramine. I did sweat profusely when exerting myself during the shift. Again this could be a side effect of Duromine, or, high blood sugar. Aiming for 2-5kg loss each week. I’m using MyFitnessPal everyday to keep track of my calorie intake, diet and exercise. All other diet and exercise plans have failed in the past. I would lose some or all of the weight but would gain all the weight back faster and then some. The difference this time is close medical supervision, support and the medication. Wish me luck

2-5kg per week is unrealistic.

Try harder, sahm staff.

You got greedy and broke your own cash cow.

Shame.

I had been on duromine for two weeks and I’ve managed to loose 6kgs. Had migraines for the a while and also my body felt shaky. I was barely hungry but forced myself to eat at least two meals a day. I wasn’t on a special diet just ate smaller portions. Drank water but not a good amount. Did little to no walking as I work from home and was in stage 3 lockdown. I have stopped taking duromine only because I was due to get my vaccination and thought If I had gotten symptoms with the vac that the duromine wouldn’t help. So I’ve been off duromine for two weeks and I have only put on 1 kgs since.

I’ve been on duromine 40mg for almost 6wks, the first few days I felt jittery and clouded in the head and wasn’t getting more than 4hrs sleep that soon passed and now I feel normal sleep 8 or more hours but I take vitamins before work and each night, I walk 3-4 nights a week but have only lost 3kg. I’ve cut my portions to very small and try drink enough water, it’s just not budging like it used to when I tried duromine years ago.

I'm on like day 7, I feel great. My appetite has decreased and I eat smaller portions. Take it early in the morning! Then you won't have insomnia. I'm doing great on it and hope for great results.

Not my experience but my Aunty used Duromine, her side effects were little to nothing and lost 30 kgs in a good amount of time… once she stopped using it the weight packed back on but not all of the weight she lost. She said it is a good start to weight loss journey but everyone’s different

Was awake the first 5 days with insomnia, at 8 days lost appetite completely. Couldn’t eat any food at all and began to fade. Had migraines from hunger after 4 weeks no weight loss at all
