TESOL - has anyone completed this and do you now use it to teach English through the internet to clients in other countries? Thanks

I'm looking for a more flexible job that brings in a bit of extra money around my other work and family commitments.
Is the course relatively easy content and quick to complete? Which companies are good to work through? Is there enough hours? What base rate is given?
I have a degree and a training and assessment certificate so I'm wondering if that makes a difference.
Any other information would be appreciated too.
Thanks

What’s your intention for it?I have done something similar and I found it not worth it either. At the end you just have a certificate... you still need to find the job. Your teacher just goes through a list of stuff to tick off that they have ‘taught you’, but they don’t actually care that you are a good teacher- it’s a fast course with a certificate goal. I honestly think instead of looking for the certificate, I’d watch a lot of youtube videos from people who have tips and study that- there are people who show their ‘tips’ for online teaching English. You honestly don’t need the certificate if you are just working from home- you need advertising and organisation to advertise..plus you’ll improve from every experience you get.. offer to teach and go from there. If you feel you are still lacking then come back to it.. but it’s just a business

Ok thanks. My intention is to work hours around my family and other job to bring in some extra cash. It wont be used thinking I can make a fulltime wage from it.

That is what I did, I posted on here a while ago. I know you feel like you want to pay for the certificate, and it makes sense, please look into the online resources. Paying significant money for a certified for say 5 hours a week work is not a good exchange, but goodluck!

Ok, I completed my TESOL qualification last year , unless you have a Uni degree it's not worth doing, I found it near impossible to find clients, but that's because I also didn't promote myself. If you have a Uni degree you can work in countries overseas. If you don't have a degree you can teach online but I preferred face to face so wasn't set up for that.

Thank you for replying. Can I ask how long it took to finish the course and whether it was hard? I work and have kids (single parent family) so my time is limited but if it's worth the time to get the qualification to bring in a little extra cash then I'd love to go for it.
