Why do we dream the dreams we have?

Answered 5 years ago

Last night I dreamt i was going out with my sons friend. He’s 14!! I was a younger version of myself but still, grosss. I’ll never be able to look at him again. He’s not in my subconscious, I don’t think about him. I sometimes see him in the school holidays. He’s not my sons best friend so he’s not talked about much. Why? Ewwwwwww.

I had a dream the other night that my husband died in a machinery accident, I wasn't upset at all in my dream, neither in the morning. I'm trying to think about it's meaning. I found some interpretations online, that sometimes death represents a new beginning, leaving the old behind, starting something new

I had a dream my son's best friend's dad, my husband and I went out to hungry jacks and the dad ate my husband's onion rings and I was so angry about it!
Haha so sometimes they mean nothing!

Dreams don’t mean much. They certainly are not your subconscious telling you something, like wanting to sleep with your sons friend. They are random, nonsensical and not worth your time worrying about

I think they mean things but not specifically what the dream is about.
For example I sometimes dream people from work are in my bedroom or bed when I am trying to sleep. I normally have this dream when work is getting really stressful and I feel like it's consuming my life.

I known some people believe there is meaning behind dreams but I don’t think there is. I believe it’s a kind of cleaning out of the mind as you sleep.
Hence the craziness of them.

Don't worry. I had a dream last night that would make your eyes bleed if i wrote it here. Its your brain getting up to mischief when the rational part is asleep.
