Is circumcision rare?

Answered 26 days ago

I have been sleeping around lately and I have noticed that I have been with more uncircumcised than circumcised. I have known that it’s been uncommon to be circumcised buts it’s not heard of now. To be honest I am more comfortable with someone who is uncircumcised as I am more familiar with a foreskin

Circumcised is way better. Never mind if it is in vogue or not. If I ever have any sons, they will be getting it done.

My husband (40's) is circumcised and so is his father (70's). He was done for medical reasons. He was the first man I've slept with that was circumcised. At the time I noticed a difference in foreplay, hand jobs not as easy and dryer without any lube. So that is different, as for sex I really enjoy sex with his circumcised one, I think it feels bigger inside with the larger head at the end. He doesn't like condoms as now in his forties he says he prefers without one, going for the snip soon so that should help us both, pill etc.... I do like him cumming inside me as much nicer for him. I think if you want to give him a handjob, dry a blow job instead as circumcised ones are so clean and fresh it's easy.

Circumcision is becoming more popular again, I think. I’ve actually never slept with an uncircumcised man before. I don’t really have a preference, but it just seems a lot cleaner.

I reckon it isn't that rare. A few of my friends have had their boys done. It's a peronal choice, really. I think I would probably get it done if I had any boys.

I don't care if it's not so popular anymore. If I have any boys, my husband and I agreed very easily that they would be circumcised. It's a strong personal preference of ours.

A well-done circumcision make a penis infinitely more aesthetically pleasing IMO and my very, very strong preference is for a circumcised partner.
But neither of those things is a reason to justify circumcising an infant I don't think. I'd rather leave it to him to decide when he's older.
I'd you do go ahead please understand the different ways it can be done and the different outcomes. Search for Gomco to find some previous posts.
Good luck with it.

I've heard the plastibell is the most popular way of doing it these days?

From the research I did when I looked into it (we didn't end up having a son) I believe Plastibell is the most common method in Australia while in the US they tend to use the Gomco Clamp. Gomco and Plastibell give different result.
Gomco takes off more skin, resulting in no or little loose skin when flaccid and tight shaft skin when erect, and removes the foreskin there and then.
With the Plastibell it falls off after a few days with the foreskin, and leaves a bit more skin and a "looser" cut.
Some prefer Gomco because it gives a more "classic" circumcision with a scar well away from the head and no loose skin.

That's interesting to know,. Yes, I have noticed on my friends son, they did a looser job, and he had a plastibell.
My son had the traditional method where they just pull the skin forward and slice it off. It just takes a few seconds. Anyway, it has worked out perfectly for my son. There isn't even a scar that I can see.

Glad to hear it. I think circumcision is still pretty popular, despite what some would have us believe.
I'm torn about it. I love a guy with a handsome circumcised penis but have trouble reconciling it with the fact that it's the result of surgery carried out, in most cases, on an infant for usually debatable reasons.

we decided to get our son done over 30 years ago. had to go and get done by a plastic surgeon as it was frowned upon by the hospital. Why we did it was friends little boy was 5 and got an infection in his penis as he wasn't circumcised became life threatening. We have 2 grandsons done and 1 not personal choice of the parents. Suggest getting medical facts from a couple of doctors

My husband's parents didn't get him done almost 50 years ago and he hated it. He finally had it done in his 20s and says it's so much better in all respects (I love it too!).

He says he's glad now that he had the choice even though growing up he was resentful he hadn't been done when almost all his mates were.

We wouldn't have our boys done if we'd had any.

My son was done because my husband insisted that it would be better to do it. Initially I wasn't really for it, but ended up going along with it and we had him done as a newborn. My son in now 6, and has started to notice that other boys are different, so I had to explain to him that we had him circumcised as a baby and what that means in practice. I asked him whether he has noticed whether any of his friends are circumcised, and he said about three boys in his swim class of about fifteen are also done. I'm pleased that my son is not the only circumcised boy in his class, but it doesn't bother him that he is in the minority. I don't think he feels like he is missing anything by not having a foreskin. Looking back on our decision, I know it's not for everyone, but I am pleased that we got it done for him.

It may be more or less common depending on where you are. I'm in Brissy, and among my friends with boys about half are done and half not. I had my two boys circumcised.
