Answered 4 years ago

I believe in a creator. Make no mistake though this virus was man made, to reduce the burden on our over populated world.

And the faith is go outside lots of families walking for exercise together. People actually smile and wave to each other - strangers. Families inside spending time together. Lots of kindness and friendship - I have faith in humanity.

Even if there is a God (which I dont really believe), he gave humans a brain and would expect them to use it.
Not much sign of that, unfortunately, when you look at what we are doing to the planet, and how badly this whole thing has been handled in several very religious countries (Iran and USA for instance).
If there is a God he created nature, and it just follows its own laws once he set it going, Billions of years ago.
Its up to us to not pollute, not strip the planet of minerals and wreck it in the process, and not over populate to a lvel where there is not enough resources for us all.
There is a school of thought that these pandemics come along every so often as a "reset' mechanism.
It is interesting that the pattern emerging is that people living in more air polluted areas are suffering higher death rates from Covid 19 than those from areas with less air pollution, across all age groups.
Just my view.

Every 100 years there seems to be a pandemic. The Spanish flu in 1920 being the previous one.

It makes sense to me that areas of high pollution have denser population hence higher infection and death rates. Not a great surprise.

Our world as a whole has turned away from God. our laws have become Godless. I beleive God allows (not caused but only allows) things like this to happen remind us that He is in charge and to turn us back to Him.
And look for the good amongst all this. The daily rush has slowed, people have more time to spend at home with their families, to slow down, rest.
Look at how people are able to come together and help one another, to show love and kindness that in the business and stress of life is often forgotten and overlooked.
Many shops, restaurants aren't entertainment precincts are closed and it shows us that we don't NEED all that materialism. Families can eat dinner together again at the family dinner table, enjoy spending time doing simple things like playing board games or going for a walk. We don't need to work ourselves ragged at the expense of never getting to spend time as a family only to then spend that money on expensive and sometimes meaningless entertainment.
There is always good to be found in every situation, but also those who only want to see the bad will see just that.

Meanwhile 700+ people per day have died in the US from one virus.
There is so much good in this ... thanks Jesus

Tell the people who are saying goodbye to their dying loved ones over facetime, those that can't pay their rent or buy food, or are locked in a house with their abuser, that it's a wonderful thing as God is trying to remind them who's boss. I would have thought doing something that's actually wonderful might work better.

I'm biased though. I've had 20 years of this attitude from my MIL, who has made my life hell because God tells her it's okay to interfere in our lives and launch verbal abuse attacks at me because I don't live by her christian standards.

If god does things like this to remind us that he’s in charge, then god is an arsehole. If someone hurt their partner to remind them who’s in charge you would call that abuse.

What does ‘god’ have to do with being kind and generous? You’re kidding me, right? Atheist here - and, yep - I have kindness, generosity, empathy and compassion....go figure!
