Grandpa bought my daughter a Fitbit, and I promised to set it up this evening. I know nothing about these things, but it’s asking if I sync to iPad or phone? I can only choose one,...help would be appreciated

Choose what's most convenient and easy to use for you. If it was me, I'd choose sync to my phone.

I agree. You can create a family account through Fitbit.
