Extremely exhausted and weak??

Answered 4 years ago

No matter how many hours I sleep whether it’s 5,6,7,8 or 9 hours, Everyday I wake up extremely exhausted and weak. Sometimes I sit in the couch in the morning and during the day and just pass in and out. I can’t do much during the day, I have 0 motivation, all I can thing about is sleep but when it’s time to go to bed I just get so upset because I know how I will feel in the morning.
I’m also losing hair by the handfuls literally, thank god I have thick hair because if I didn’t I would have nothing left.
Has anyone had this?
I need to go see a doctor but just trying to avoid them atm because of coronavirus.

Yes....if you have an autoimmune thyroid disease you are extremely likely to also have celiac disease. I am going through testing now.

Iv been like this for years kept getting my thyroid checked, no issue the last 6 months have been terrible.
Hair loss (I also have thick hair so not too big a deal) so exhausted no kotivation to do anything everything took effort.

My other symptoms we moodiness , weight gain and inability to control it, irritability, puffy eyes, and swollen feet. Horribly dry skin and I simply couldn’t stand the temperature above 30. Also I sweated easier than ever.

A few month back I finally fell into hyperthyroidism but when re tested 5 weeks later my levels were fine. The male doctor sent me away basically saying your just getting older now theses this are hard to manage (I am very active and mostly healthy diet)
Randomly a female doctor reviewed me thinking the check up was for me the following week (it was for my daughter) and I explained things to her and asked if the reason I’m always testing fine is just because of chance and maybe my thyroid is fluctuating.
She agreed and put me on a low dose of thyroxine

OH MY GOD.
Iv been on it almost two weeks and the defference in my energy!!! My hair is no longer coming out in handfuls when I was it, I’m not moody anymore and I just had my period and it wasn’t heavy nor did it go on for 7-8 days!!!
No pain or tiredness and this is usually the worst two weeks (the lead up to my period and my period)
Iv lost 1.5 kilos and my diet has actually been shit this past two weeks. And my foot is cut so iv done no excercise (my job alone I’d walk about 10k a day, surf a few times a week, swim 2500 meters and general activity with my kids)

It’s been amazing.

Not saying that’s it for you but it’s worth considering and pushing for!!

Ive battled thyroid disease for years. But it took a female doctor ( mostly males where I am so onlyy saw males for years ) to order more thorough tests and I found out I have two autoimmune diseases of the thyroid. The male doctors dismissed my symptoms of just getting older. They knew my thyroid was the problem but wouldn’t fix it, saying it’s normal.

You Need to see a doctor. Do not let the Coronavirus situation prevent you. You might find that your consultation will be over the phone and if you need further intervention you will have to go in. I’m guessing you will need bloods as your symptoms sound typical of hypothyroidism.
