My sister in law thinks she’s better than everyone in her family cause she is studying full time
Works 15 hours a fortnight
Has 3 kids and 2 step kids
Wants people to have little bit of understanding about her busy life

It really depends on the individual and their priorities/goals in life. In the big scheme of things, we need career minded, ladder climbing people as much as we need community minded, family focussed people. This is how society works. If you try hard and succeed at what you do, then you're winning at life!

I'm a carer, I work full-time cos I love my job but also have to pay bills. I wouldn't want to work in another field or position. I'm not looking at climbing ladders to get more qualified or anything either. In my mind career makes me think of people who are always working to achieve more, get promoted etc. I'm just content where I am. My sister in law went from carer to nurse and now is doing specialty courses to make her more qualified for specific nursing areas. I'd call that a career.
I'm not judging anyone who works in a job or a career etc. As long as they are happy I suppose.
I personally am very happy! Maybe I could organise my home life better and then I would say perfect. 😂

You all need to grow up. It’s the 21st century you want to be an independent woman! So work and be independent. Having a husband support you financially isn’t being independent

No, I don't. Do what works best for you and your family. I've seen people burn out from trying to do too much at once. I hate when people belittle or are rude to others though.

I personally would not like to be dependent on anybody. I believe because I can independently support myself that our marriage is stronger. He respects me and I choose to be with him. No I don’t think ladies without careers are failures especially those with children. They are both tough to manage and it is only possible with the right partner. Not all men support their wives choices. To a large extent woman support their husbands and kids so it can be difficult having time left over for your self.

No. I think that people who want to put all their energy in careers will have good careers. People who want to put all there energy into their families will have loving close nit families. If you're trying to be good at everything you'll just end up spreading yourself too thin & being good at nothing.

Or some people will half arse both or concentrate on pretending they are super busy with all their kids being school aged while they enjoy 6hours of free time 5 hrs a week.

Wow guilt trip much. I have both and sometimes it feels that way but it really isn’t. Life is what you make it.

What defines a 'career'? I hear everyone from cleaners to doctors call their job a career. Which is fine by me. Some see a career as one that needs a degree, some where there's a ladder to climb, some where there's a paycheck. Some just use the term to be arseholes & think they're better than others.
