Not sad for me. I love staying home with my kids. I hate having to find something to wear, getting my hair nice ( it takes a lot of effort ), doing makeup ( that takes a lot more effort coz I have no idea how to apply makeup), hanging out with people who drink so much they talk shit, I get cold and bored and my feet hurt. I’d rather be at home in my pjs with my frizzy hair and plain face cuddling my husband and kids on the couch.

When you're pissing money against a wall is it notes or coins? This seems painful

So when you go out and be sad about it. Clearly she’s talking about bars and alcohol. Which is a waste of time, money and effort

I think it’s sad that you consider yourself “stuck at home with the kids”. Find something fun to look forward to as a family so you don’t resent them so much ......

It depends what you consider a good time.
Personally I do not drink as I think it's disgusting, so all the other people my age drinking for a good time I consider sad.
I enjoy getting time to read a book and go to sleep early 😂

Hmm people my age are going out drinking. Getting "tanked","wasted", "off their faces". Their insta and snap stories look sloppy and irresponsible. But that's their choice.

Oookay way to push your agenda about how much you hate drinking but not what the post was about....Are you 18?

No, mid 30s.
Yes I hate alcohol! My entire family are alcoholics. You try living that and tell me that you wouldn't push anti alcohol agenda on other people.

I miss my carefree days when I could do whatever I wanted...now if we go to dinner it's all about how we can keep the children entertained for 30mins so we might able to eat some sub par food in relative peace. Do they have play equipment? (An obvious essential for a good quality restaurant). Do they have colouring in stuff? Which they're over in 10 mins....at which points our phones get offered as a way to keep them quiet for remaining meal...never lasts though...yep this is what it's like now...it's easier just to get drive through & sit on your arse at home.

You need to look for new fun things to do. Obviously the old kid free activities aren't working out, maybe fish and chips at the park could be fun?

Have a read of French Children Don't Throw Food by... I don't remember her name. But it has some great insight into getting kids to behave properly in a restaurant.

Why would I find it sad? I used to hate going out and partying and being around other people every weekend. I much prefer sitting at home, laying with my kids and husband watching movies and all of us falling asleep in a big pile all sprawled out across mattresses on the lounge room floor then waking up at like 10 the next morning and making pancakes and dancing to crappy music in our PJs. To me that is way more fun than all the parties, pubs and nightclubs combined. But then for someone who came from a broken family, rejected by her mum for the new boyfriend and kids and having to stay at my dad's and raise myself because he had to work out of town all the time, I'm not surprised I would rather my family life to what I had before.

My kids are older and I recently had the chance to go away for study and spent time with colleagues out drinking. Whilst it was a fun escape I’m back at home now and have given up drinking all together and prefer to spend my time exercising. I think it is a phase of life and it’s great to enjoy each moment as it comes but also recognize and embrace when you have moved to a new phase of life.
