I reckon that eventually there will be a royal commission into the handling of the funds. It's just a matter of time

Do you have links for your claims? There is A LOT of false information circulating about

Here is something to consider.... there has been a huge amount of money donated in a very short time. It’s not just a matter of giving it to those who need it. There is a process. The money needs to be counted (accountants), and then decisions made on who needs it, and the criteria that’s needs to be met because it shouldn’t just go to anyone who asks because there are a lot of greedy people out there. Already there have been scams from unscrupulous people taking advantage of a dire situation. Also, long term strategies need to be considered. The building of infrastructure and so forth and so they should keep a large portion of the money from that.

True, additionally they don't have the capacity to use it all immediately - they don't just start throwing money around and they are dealing with huge quantities.
I donated to the Red Cross and it said on their website that excess donations would fund their other work. They aren't keeping it, they will use it in less high-profile cases, which I'm fine with.
The Salvos won't keep it - they will keep feeding the the poor in our community and help people on the streets.

I'm a local in a fire effected area. I've seen reporters pitching in and raising money for directly effected families because everyone else has been pretty much useless. Not sure on the actual number but the Government will give you something like $1000 per adult if your house burnt down. This particular family had disabled children. That money got them an unfurnished rental but it doesn't buy them beds or mattresses etc so community had to find another way and that's just one family.
