My aunt didn't when my uncle did it. He had been cheating and she found out and he said he was going to kill himself, went out and took a handful of pills and died in the backyard while she sat on the computer reading the conversations he'd had with these women. She was a massive drug addict and he had a lot of mental and physical problems and had tried to kill himself in the past as well so him saying that should have been taken seriously. The police tried everything to get her charged because she just sat there, but she walked away free. This was about 14 years ago, I don't know if things have changed now

Tbh if I was reading such interactions I probably wouldn’t even ‘hear’ someone say that. As in I would be too focused reading the conversations.
It’s not like she killed him herself

Legally, unless you’re a mandatory reporter, no. Morally could you live with yourself if you didn’t make a quick call to the police to do a welfare check? I guess it depends on the circumstances too. If this person was terminal and in pain is it fair to report it? If they are just having a rough patch and can get through it with the right help and support should they then end their life just because they can’t see any way out? Could you live with yourself knowing this and how will family and friends feel if they ever found out? Would you lose family or friends for not stepping up?

you'll be morally responsible.
DO SOMETHING!!!
If someone does nothing then they deserve to suffer and die in the worst way. They have no soul.

Yes. I believe you would.
Not to mention the guilt you would feel.
Please try to seek some help for them.
