Reporting for Newstart in years 2012-14

Answered 5 years ago

Hi ladies, hoping someone might be able to answer a quick question. I can see online that currently when you report working hours to Centrelink it is for the previous 14 days. In earlier years (2012-2014 is when I'm interested in) was it the same process? I had some random feeling like you had to guess for the coming fortnight which obviously made it hard to report correctly if you had a casual job, but I could be wrong. I'm helping someone out who may be stuck in the robodebt kerfuffle. And yes I have asked the person I'm helping, but they take a while to respond and aren't necessarily the most reliable source of info. Thank you 🙂

I think this is what got me, when I started working 3 years ago I kept reporting my hours and was still eligible for little top up payments as I wasn't getting many hours to start with. This went on for about 6 weeks until I was getting more hours. Then I get a bill last year because they averaged out my earnings over my work period which put my income as higher over that first 6 weeks. So I had to go to my last employer to get payslips and send to them. Have you tried doing that if its a similar situation? They could still have them.
