am I being petty?

Answered 3 years ago

So long story short. We had been drinking all afternoon. and we finished our first carton and we called our mate to come get hubby to get another one.
This friend hit hubby up to buy him a pack of smokes (20's so that's $30 from the corner shop) plus get him a six pack ($23.99) so virtually cost us over $50 just to get taken down to the shop... Would have been cheaper in a taxi! Would it be petty to hit him up for the pack of smokes at least? he's the kinda friend who cant do something for you unless he gets something for it and I know that but $50 bucks is ridiculous!

Why do you have people like this in your life???

Don't ask him for anymore favours. Take note & remember when the situation is reversed & he needs something. Baffles me how people think this kind of behaviour has no consequences... I think he's a dick. Asking for one thing maybe but two & you're pushing the friendship buddy.

You wanted to drink and chose to ask the friend to take time out of his day! Deal with it

Yes petty! Lessons to take away from here:
Don’t run out of alcohol
Don’t ask said friend for future favours like this

Just because you’re sober now doesn’t mean you can start back tracking.

Did you have a great drinking session? If yes then forget the $50 and move on

If you know what he's like, you should have determined what he'd get beforehand.
