Fantastic my husband works upstairs in his home office, I work next door in a large empty room that used to be a guest room but we took the bed out. My teenage son is in the downstairs study and my teenage daughter is in the living room area looking out onto the backyard. We all have laptops desks, office chairs and separate screens. We are lucky to have our own space and can all work independently. I am really grateful my kids are in high school, also they go to a fantastic public high school so I don’t feel ripped off paying private fees. The teachers have worked so hard and have really transitioned the kids across well. I think this generation is so much more prepared to work online.

Awful. I have a yr 4, yr 2 and preschooler and hubby working from home. I also work 1-2 days a week 12hr shifts plus I’m doing uni.
All they do all day if fight, eat and whinge. Hubby ignores them because he’s “working”, I stay up to 2am regularly to get uni done And have to pull all nighters to get assignments in on time.
The Yr4 kid is ok and will work but the yr2 broke me. I ask nicely, I explain patiently but I always end up yelling and screaming. I thought his book out the window of the caravan (where I’ve set up to study) and dragged him out the door screaming that we’re done. Then broke down and cried, the felt guilty because I shouldn’t have yelled at him. I’m an an emergency nurse and for my own mental health will most likely send them back to school next week.
Oh I’m and I’m over all the BS perfect parent posts on 🤗

They are powering through it, but who honestly knows if they really understand the content?

My year 6 child really struggles with Math. I've approached her teachers in year 4 and 5 and they just robbed me off saying she was doing ok. Now I know for sure so I'll be getting her tutoring if I can afford it.

We don’t start back for another week but my kids were working from home for 3 weeks before holidays. I have a Year 5 and a Year 10, they did a great job. Logged in each day without any prompting from me and worked steadily until they were finished. But I have to give a lot of credit to their schools and teachers. They were really on top of it when it came to having lessons prepared and communicating with us on what needed to be done and how to do it.
