If we get takeout I'm going to collect it myself unless both of us are completely unable to do so. Uber eats take a delivery fee from the customer (fair enough) and a percentage of the bill from the restaurant. I'd rather my money go directly to the people whose food I enjoy, not for a third party to line their pockets. But that's me. I don't judge those who choose to do it another way. I'm all for people doing what works for them :)

There isnt a ‘uber eats kitchen’, the food is prepared at the cafe/restaurant you order it from. I never pay a delivery fee, although sometimes there is a fee for delivery, but i always choose the no fee delivery option. Often the dishes are about $1-$2 more then if you dined in, so i guess that goes to uber, but im not sure. And there is an option to tip both the restaurant and the delivery person, where the full amount you select goes to that person/business.

It seems a lot of people are commenting here and have no idea what they are talking about and dont use the service.

I use it regularly.

A few times when we've had good discounts, as a treat. It's way too expensive. I prefer to make quick fake away or buy a frozen pizza/garlic bread with my shopping. The added tip option annoys me - I'm not paying extra on top. Uber should reduce their cut instead of asking us to pay more.

I do know people who use it almost every night. I think it's designed to be so easy it's addictive.

I use it all the time, food always arrives fresh and perfect, often no delivery fee as they have an option where it is free if you order from a place someone else has ordered from at the same time and there is an option to tip the cafe with all money going to them. All ive read above is not my experience, but i live in the CBD so that probably helps.

We do uber eats at my work and we are not allowed to put a receipt in the bag as uber chargers a much higher price than my workplace. Its stressful and the only people who win is uber - a foreign company.
Fuck that.

Yes once only because i got $30 free credit for my first order. The prices are more expensive than if you buy direct from the restaurant, plus they charge delivery. I know deliveroo also slug the business with a commissuon on top but not sure if uber eats does too.
Its worth a short drive to support local business.
