Does anyone else have family that don’t want to help them?
Answered 2 months ago
Long story short, i feel like i am the only person who has parents that don’t want to help at all. I asked my mum to help me out by looking after my 4 yo one day while i worked, she said no she had things to do. But she really didn’t. I was hurt. My family never want to help. Wish i had a family that did.
Have an answer?
My father struggles with drug addiction, so asking him to babysit was never an option. My mother has never been very good with young kids, and hates noise. So she's not a good babysitting option either.
I used to get really jealous of everyone I knew who's families were active in their lives and helped out. Now I don't though.
Yeah, it's hard and I wish my family was different. But, as they have done my whole life, they're teaching me how I DONT want to be for my own kids and grandkids. I love little kids, and have every intention of being there for my future grandkids (God willing I get some). I'll be at every footy game, dance concert, music performance, and birthday party. And those kids will be at grannies house every Sunday for a family meal.
You can't change your family, but you can ensure it stops with you. Break the generational bullshit. It ends with you.
Is your child too much responsibility for her?
Do you have ott rules / guidelines when it comes to childcare? Eg I don’t look after my sisters kids cause the what they can and can’t eat list is insane even without allergies. She needs to bring packed lunches if I do.
Me... I am happy provided my kids are safe & come home alive! Don’t give a f what they eat.
I kinda feel like this generation is a bit entitled these days.
