I met someone at a night club. We spoke for about 5 minutes. I left. Wasn't interested. He then added me on MySpace and we began to chat. 13 years later we've been happily married for 9 years with 2 beautiful little Bubba's and trying for a #3. So we didn't exactly meet online but that is where we fell in love.

I believe there is no such things as 'love of your life ' or soul mates etc. They're connections you'll have many connections over a lifetime and yes you can meet someone you connect with online, however the chemistry would be hard to tell, as we release pheromones that tell each other whether or not you could make babies with each other (as in passing on genes) that's why you can see someone on screen meet them in person then be like "meh". 'love" is no more than our biological urge to reproduce and to pass on our genes. Find someone you enjoy being with cause friendship is where its at.

I've got two different friends who have married someone they met online (dating websites). I don't think it's that different to meeting someone in a bar, you get to know them a bit then meet up for dates and see how it goes. These people were in the same city though. Long distance and going long term before meeting might be a bit harder but still possible. Also with technology like video chats, online dating is probably getting easier.
