My MIL is the same and when she comes to stay at our house she takes it upon herself to clean my house in the morning too. It drives me crazy, but I have accepted it as part of life and having family.
If it bothers you that much stay in a hotel or air bnb close to their house so you can visit but still have you’re holiday sleep in. If you can’t afford accommodation pitch a tent in their backyard so you’re out of the house or stay home and miss out.

What’s wrong with cleaning early so you have the whole day free? I prefer to do mine at night time so when I wake up then I don’t have to worry but each to their own.

Absolutely yes to getting things done first thing in the morning. I can’t do it at the minute due to starting work at 7am. But damn I’m looking forward to the holidays & having everything done early so I can spend time with my kids.

You are a guest in THEIR house. They do THEIR housework at 8am in the morning. That is THEIR life & THEIR way of doing things. Get over it or go back home to YOUR house, where you can do things YOUR way!!!

^^ Oh I forgot, it’s all about you, you & you. 8am isn’t early, but if you feel so entitled to a sleep in maybe talk to them?

You may be on holidays but when you are in somebody else's house you don't get to dictate what time they do things.

Before I leave the house to do the school drop I've usually completed several housework tasks plus had a coffee. If DC & DH are still eating breakfast while I vacuum that's their lookout. I stopped arranging my life around everyone else's sleep habits long ago. I'm a morning person & like to get work out of the way before other things crop up. If nothing crops up I've time for an extra long coffee break later on!

Everyone is different. If that's The worst your in laws do your doing pretty well. I'll loan you mine for a while & you might see yours differently.

Honestly my parents do this too. Calm the fk down, the driveway doesnt need to be blown off at 6fuckingAM - I am on holidays.
I feel this.
