Don't forget that the vast majority of cases are boring criminal cases or civil trials. Civil trials can go for many, many months and be ultra-dry and boring. Don't think that your jury service is guaranteed to be exciting.
And don't think just because you are in a jury pool you will even be selected for a jury.
You firstly need to be selected for jury service, then you need to actually be asked to attend court during that period (not guaranteed), then you need to be selected from hundreds to be part of the pool from which a jury is selected, then you need to have your name pulled out of a hat *and* not be challenged by the accused. If you get through all that, then you will become one of the 12 (in a criminal case) that is selected to sit on the jury.
You will spend a lot of time sitting around in the jury room. It is not glamorous.
Don't forget that you will have people's lives in your hands. Take it seriously, not like it's some TV drama!

Not offended by your comment. Just preparing for you to be very disappointed by how boring it probably will be. And not too much time on my hands. I type fast so that was about one minute of my life :-)
