I’ve had a cold all week and been in bed for most of it Then I felt better and took the kids to the playground when I felt better and twisted my foot so back in bed yesterday! Kids watching too much tv and iPad but have been good at going outside to play too. Hubby at work. Have uni work building up but my GP gave me sick certificate for the week. Will spend some time on weekend organising home schooling tasks to get organised for next week.

We did make bread from scratch the other day, kids playing uno.

Love the origami idea. I’ll get the kids to make pillow cases on the sewing machine next week. Today blowing bubbles at playground and feeding ducks. Xx

That’s the way, take them out to playground and spread your germs around. You should’ve left them in school if that’s what you were planning to do 🤦‍♀️

We were the only ones at the playground!

It doesn’t matter if you were the only ones at the playground- they are closing all the parks for a reason. Your “cold” germs live on that play equipment and then the next people who come along who are “the only ones at the playground” with be exposed to them. Fuckwits like you are the reason we can stop the spread of covid19, and everyone who has the “chill out, it’s no big deal” attitude are all part of the problem too....

I’m 42. I didn’t play on the equipment. I supervised my 3 children

You don’t think your children have any of your germs? 🤣. What don’t you understand about STAY AT HOME..... especially when you’ve had cold and flu symptoms. Jesus Christ... after the playground did you go to the supermarket and sneeze all over the produce section?

Also, how did you twist your foot? Surely it wasn’t on the play equipment, because you didn’t touch any of it.....

Walking along a river. It’s a nature playground. Man, I just came on this site for a bit of community and support. I think I won’t bother from now on

Sorry if your feeling are hurt, but I am beyond frustrated at seeing and hearing about people going about in public spaces when we’ve all been told to stay home! Then you mention you’ve been sick-another good reason to stay home and be even more cautious about going in public! Take a walk and then GO HOME, let the kids play in their own backyard and blow bubbles there.

I walked, the kids played. Haven’t been to shops.

Yes, even if you walked, your children are playing in the playground and blowing bubbles there. It is a public space. If you have cold symptoms you shouldn’t be taking walks outside of your house right now. Playgrounds are supposed to be off limits. If other people had showed up, would you have left? Just take your walk and explain to your kids that the playground is off limits for now.....I hate how everyone is being so blaze’ about something that is wiping out tens of thousands of people. All of our actions affect other people. I know it seems like a personal attack, but really, I’m just hoping everyone who reads this will get the message that this is serious and as much as it sucks, we can’t be casual about following the rules anymore 😔

She isn’t wrong. Maybe could have been a bit nicer but she’s not wrong. My son and I have had a cold for a week now. He also ended up with an ear infection.Even though she is positive we have nothing serious she ordered us to both stay home. This virus spreads so easily and can live for quite a long time. We have to all do our part and stay at home, especially if you have any symptoms.

Sorry, she in the above post being the doctor. We had a Telehealth consult with the doctor where she prescribed antibiotics for the ear and ordered us to stay in the house.

Didn’t end up blowing bubbles, just fed the ducks. It’s a huge playground and I wasn’t within 3 metres of anyone. I work as a carer and have stayed away From work. I have given up work to help do my part with social distancing. I’m voluntarily keeping my kids home from school. I likely have the cold all the kids had last week so I’m pretty sure they can’t get it again from me. But yes. In future If I or anyone in my family have a cold we will stay at home. Happy to admit when I’ve made a mistake and it appears I have. Xx.

My kids are Year 5 and 9. I haven’t had to do much to keep them on track. Their schools moved everything to an online platform. They have been logging in around 9 each morning and they are usually done by lunch time. Since their sports have all be cancelled we have started a family exercise time and we have been playing more board games.

My kids are teenagers so they are following their school timetables and doing the online school content. I’m impressed at how well they’re going so far. They said it’s so much easier to get stuff done with no distractions. They work from 9-2 then can do whatever they like in the arvo.
