Do you make your kids breakfast or do they do it themselves?

Answered 2 years ago

My kids are 6 and 10, I still make their breakfast every morning (I ask them what they would like from a few different options), I just can't handle the mess in the kitchen and like to have a calm organised morning. Wondering if I need to let go, or just do what works for us as the kids are fine with it?

My 8 year old would rather die of starvation or go thirsty for hours unless I get it for him lol

My 9 year old makes her own breakfast, everything from bacon and eggs, omelettes, cereal to toast she sometimes does noodles as well (ha!) and has done for a few years, my eldest is 18 and she was doing the same at that age and my 5 year old has just started making simple things (with supervision) for herself.

Weekdays they do their own which is usually cereal. Weekends we do pancakes/eggs bacon and I cook those. Get your children to clean up after themselves.

Really just depends on what we are having for breakfast. My kids are 6 and almost 4. They get their own cereal but anything else I generally make. They usually have toast, fruit and yoghurt for breakfast.

Perhaps time to train them up. My kids do their own breakfast most mornings and know to clean up.
