How do you suggest we interact with our kids while pushing them in a pram, probably asleep?

Maybe they hit you on purpose. I know I do when there's people in the road and they don't move

I think someone was pointing out how uneducated you are. When you attempt to state facts, you need to try and not look stupid

Probably the same reason that dads and other adults 'feel the need' to talk on their phones (e.g. maybe their phone rang so they answered it).

More importantly,

Why do you feel the need to be soo judgmental? Life is hard enough as a mum without people like YOU judging.

I think because people are busy - working, raising children, etc....also there’s definitely a fear of missing out on something....I think it’s also because we’re all so used to being permanently connected and we forget just to enjoy the moment.

Why do people feel the need to talk or text on their phone in general? Because they can. Having kids doesn't stop you from being able to operate a phone. And being an asshole on a phone isn't restricted to mothers.

Damn straight.
Sometimes I sit in my car for half an hour after shopping just to catch up on texting and phone calls.
I don't care.

Sometimes we have stuff to do, sometimes we need to feel connected to the world. Sometimes we're avoiding eye contact with judgemental people or pretending were busy because the clique of mums is ignoring us. I have about 1000 possible scenarios.
Right now I'm trying to say sane at swimming lessons because I sit here twice a week & can't feign excitement at every moment.

First of all good on you for taking your kid to swimming lessons, but don’t feign excitement, just show them that you are relaxed and it’s all good..

Baby is quiet in the pram, use that time to catch up with whoever, make appointments, organise work. Who knows what they are doing but as long as their children are safe who gives a fuck.

Maybe because my life didn't stop when I had kids? Because I still need to discuss with hubby what to have for dinner or I felt like ringing my mum to check in on her because she lives 7 hours away and her depression meds aren't working as well as they used to and she's high risk for suicide at the moment, or maybe my sister rang me and I'm talking to her for the first time in 2 weeks because she lives in a whole other state. Or maybe I'm discussing with my girlfriend's where to meet up for lunch. Or maybe you just need to stop being such a judgemental dickhead and wonder why a mum being on her phone bothers you so much? We have shit to do, people we need to talk to and it is possible to be able to watch a kid and talk at the same time.

Sometimes calls come in that need to be taken, I think for safety you shouldn't cross a road or car park etc while on phone but if you're out of harms way or can stop no problem. Same principal as car driving and phone use
